Inspirations
About Artanya
I am an artist living and working in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Recently, the focus of my artistic efforts has been on sharpening the tools of observation - on learning to really see the world around me, and to use painting and drawing to capture these visions. The tension between darkness and light is usually a major theme in the work.
Methods and philosophies of the Old Masters have always been enticing, and I am determined to reach towards their impossible standards.
The blogosphere has been an unending source of inspiration and creative fuel for me, and I hope that my own blog's stumbling and wondering can add to the cyber-collective of images and journeys.
And if not, then I just hope it doesn't bore.

ReplyDeleteHi there, I noticed the 2nd image on Jasper Ave and... the reason I'm here commenting is because it looks so much like myself. I almost swear it is me. So my question is, how is it possible that it contains all of my features? It's very startling! I was just riding the bus one day and thought, "what am I doing on a banner!?" DeleteThanks for writing! I can see what you mean about the resemblance you have to the person in the banner painting (it's actually a portrait of a beautiful friend of mine).
I think it speaks to the notion that there are more similarities between us all than there differences.
I hope you enjoy the banner painting of "you" as you travel along Jasper Ave;)
